2km north south spread in the fleet now, PUMA furthest north, Groupama in the south
CAMPER are regarded as the best upwind boat and off to a great start on this second stage.
Tracker is updating every 15 minutes for first hour.
Telefonica up to speed now after a sluggish start.
@B Boats heading south east on port tackso north south split means PUMA are most windward boat and Groupama the most leeward.
This just in from Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing's Nick Dana:
"Great start. Sunny Day. Just enough breeze to ease us back into the swing of sailing these crazy things. I'm not sure our 13+ day adventure has sunk in
with anyone yet. All we know is we're back onboard and the entire fleet is
to weather of us now. Good to have the Sanya boys back in action - can't
wait to see their home port."
Fleet powering along in flat water at around 10 knots.
@Percy It could certainly be a good first few days for Groupama
@SyatR Piracy problem in that region has been more or less eliminated.
@Capt Marty Yep! Lots of the skippers and navigators predicting a park up in no wind and effective restart of the race in the Malacca Strait.
