Groupama: best sailors, best team dynamic, impressive rookies, deserve overall win (not made yet though). Ken Read, best showman, most empathic leader onboard. Telefonica, had everything to win, massive advance on first legs, but lost temper in Lisbon inport which cost them a 360°, decided to make it or break it on this one, latin temper by excellence, did not turn their way, overall strategy pb .... Camper, solid team but never cut the grade, leadership pb ? Abu: best in port, probably Ian Walker is best tactician. Sanya shows that even a former VOR winner can't make it with the right machine. This just in from Hamish Hooper on CAMPER:
"I think its fair to say we have run out of race track to catch Groupama unless something goes very wrong on their boat, so our focus now is the match race to the finish with Puma. We need to finish ahead of them. We are still flying along averaging mid 20 knots of boatspeed. Lorient is getting closer by the minute." -

someone also commented on Sanderson a previous winner and that even he could do no better in this one,you are forgetting one small point he has an old worn out boat.In leg 2 he was miles ahead of the rock stars until quick thinking prevented the mast coming down just like Steinlarger !! Then in the Southern Ocean again leading with smart sailing give then the latest generation and see the results which I would say would be right up front.
